I think you are referring to your cache. Click on 'Tools'>'Options'>'Privacy'. Click on cache and select 'Clear'

Yup, the cache is basically files that have been saved (images, etc) from sites that you visit so you can load the site faster when you next visit it.

cache is where they store the secret info about you from sites. you should clear it everyday to stay safe, unless you want the g-men to come after you when you least expect it.
