Computer location puzzle with XP

Hey all. I wonder if any of you know how to work around this problem I'm having.... First off, I'm in Canada and using Windows XP, my ISP is Shaw.

Now, the problem... I'm getting really tired of not being able to watch multimedia (no.. not porn.) on the net. Reason I can't? U.S. based websites recognize that I'm not in the U.S. and tell me that the media is not available outside the United States.

Now the question... Are there any settings I can change on my computer, or any way to fool the website into thinking I AM in the U.S.? A few years ago, I used to just tell Win98 that I was located in the U.S. and that was enough to convince most websites that I wasn't logged on in Canada.... Does this approach still work, or are the websites reading my ISP location now?

All I want to do is watch a missed episode of Jericho and get a wider variety of music on Launchcast.
