Adding a further DVD RW

Win XP home ( UK)


I have a PC in front of me, which I'm being asked to add another DVD-RW to, this new DVD unit is a Sony Nec Optiarc AD-7170A

At the moment both IDEs are used

IDE 1

Primary Master, Primary Slave

IDE 2
Secondary Master, Secondary Slave

What do I fit the new DVD drive to and what do I make it, is there a IDE expansion card I must fit?

I had a good look at many sites but couldn't find a thing that helped, is it posible to firmware flash and region free the above unit?

I don't think it can be done maybe someone here can confirm.

If you already have four drives installed then you need a PCI IDE Controller card such as:
