Good scan here:

Memory upgrades from Crucial.com - About Crucial:Media Toolbox

Very strange your Vista is only detecting half your current RAM!

Re: What type of ram can my motherboard support?

i ran the crucial memory scan (this is my second time trying this scan) and my computer got a blue screen that says its shutting down my computer for my computer's safety,
also, i only have 1gb of ram, i have pulled out the stick and it says 1GB nothing else but when i right click my computer it says i have 2gb.

i used a program called ccleaner to clean up registry and temporary files, it gives my computers specs and it also shows 2GB

ps. i have a USB stick in using readyboost and i am using 2.8GB of that USB

Last edited by uuBi; 07-01-2009 at 04:39 AM. Reason: another program thinks i have 2gb

Re: What type of ram can my motherboard support?

CPU_Z should get a good read of your current RAM:

CPUID

Have you tried using it in either slot?

Also is your graphics on-board or do you have a graphics card?

In the long run if you can match that stick you have you should have no problem using another one just like it. Mixing speeds and brands is not a good idea.

That being said the Crucial scanner and the mis read cause some concern about the board itself.
