'Boot Camp'

Apple puts Windows XP on the Mac

I've never used a Mac but just curious if anyone's tried this?

Re: 'Boot Camp'

I have a macbook pro that runs M$ wXP natively -- ie, no emulation! It's there mostly because I wanted to try out bootcamp, and to irritate my PC friends. I also run a really fantastic Linxux os named Knoppix with KDE, and I LOVE it! I can boot into 3 systems and run them natively with ease. The Linux is actually on a 4 gig DVD but it runs so well I cant tell it's not drive mounted. Knoppix would rock on your G4 too, but M$ stuff you'll need an "emulator"--another piece of software between lies like a troll between the mac os and the windows os and eats up unsuspecting cpu cycles That is not a fun pasttime if you have a choice. So go Linux or Panther, and skip the ms stuff. Actually, install **for free** OPEN Office or Neo OFFice and you have virtually all the work-world's apps you need. If this is supposed to be a gaming rig, sorry--iT'll be a dog. IMHO.

Re: 'Boot Camp'

Although that can happen, it's rare, and there a loads of people using XP and using Mac after without a problem.

Go and buy a mac And boot camp You wont* have a single problem!!
