Unhappy Accidentally deleted audio driver (windows)

Hello,

I accidentally deleted my audio driver.
It was 'Realtek high definition audio driver'.
I'm using windows XP, I already tried to download some things, but I can't get any further with it.
I have an apple macbook, sounds works on macintosh.
Can someone help me, please?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Accidentally deleted audio driver (windows)

Without knowing your motherboard make/manufacturer . It will be hard to point you to the correct driver.

Re: Accidentally deleted audio driver (windows)

Make sure any previous drivers you tried to install are uninstalled first before you install this one. You can inflict a driver conflict by failing to uninstall previous driver.

Re: Accidentally deleted audio driver (windows)

I downloaded it, I installed it. But there is still no sound. Is there something else I still have to do?
Connect it, or whatever?

By 'Sounds and audio devices properties' it says: No audio device.

Re: Accidentally deleted audio driver (windows)

I am not a Windows user or own a Mac . Have you found a volume mixer xontrol center and check to see if sound is muted, turned down etc?

Re: Accidentally deleted audio driver (windows)

If I want to go to the volume control it says: There is no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go to control panel, click printers and other hardware, and then click Add hardware.

So, I really don't know what to do. But thanks for your help!
