i doubt it can support higher than DirectX 7.0. it can probably run games that uses DirectX9.0 and such but fully support it? i don't believe so.
overclocking it would mostly depend on your graphics card brand and such. the last i asked, i was informed that Asus cards perform better when overclocked.
it might be a good idea to experiment with overclocking this card, but the performance i doubt would improve that much. i'd say it would be better to grab a mid range graphics card like... the nVidia 7600?
heard the 8300 and 8600 is coming out so you might wanna wait.
