Smile 7900GTO GPU temperature

Hello DAL,

I recently got a new Geforce 7900GTO. There is no problems, but I would like to check to make sure there isn't going to be in the future.
Newegg.com - BFG Tech BFGR79512GTOCE GeForce 7900GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

I overclocked it using RivaTuner from:

Core Clock 475MHz (vs. 450MHz standard)
Memory Clock 1360MHz (vs. 1320MHz standard)

to:

Core Clock 715Mhz
Memory Clock 1020Mhz
Average Temp 58c
Fan set at 75%

I have the memory and core dials about the same.

Do you think this is a safe setup? and is it even worth doing?

Thanks for your time,

Re: 7900GTO GPU temperature

Whether or not it gives you any better performance could be determined via 3D Mark:

Futuremark - Benchmarks - 3DMark06 - Download

As to temps those cards usually will run between 55c & 65c so there should be no issue there.

Re: 7900GTO GPU temperature

Thank for your reply Jephree,

That's good to hear about the temp. because it turns out the overclock was quite successful in the 3D mark 06' program.

Before clock:

total score: 3522

sm2 score: 1568
sm3 score: 1807

after clock:

total score: 4012

sm2 score: 1898
sm3 score: 2190

Thanks for your time,
