pmr vs lmr

is Perpendicular magnetic recording better than longitudinal magnetic recording in hard drives i would like to know because im stuck between buying one hard drive or another there both the same apart from one is pmr and the other is lmr

What are the particular drives you are considering?

You also have the option of Solid State drives although they are still a bit pricey they are coming down.
