I was recently at someone's house upgrading them to XP and I ran into a problem. She has an HP Photosmart C200 Digital Camera that hooks into the computer through a serial port. I'm not too confident about serial ports, but I tried to connect it and turn the camera on and such, hoping XP would just detect it, but no. It did work before when she had Windows 98SE, but I'm not quite sure how it loaded. I'm pretty sure that she would just run the software program and it would detect the camera, which I have tried, but I get an error saying it doesn't detect the camera. I went to
http://www.hp.com hoping to find something, but what I found was not helpful. Right from step one it's a failure.

Connect the camera to the PC with the provided serial cable, and turn on the camera by sliding open the lens cover. The Status LCD will show the letters PC.

I see no letters "PC" on the LCD. If someone could give me a manual or something on this I would appreciate it, also if there's something special I need to do for XP to detect a peripheral in a serial port or some drivers or something I need for XP to load the camera, please let me know. Any help is much appreciated.
