accidently deleted my sound device

I think I have accidently deleted my sound device, can't listen to music in windows media player, no sound coming from other games etc, how can I restore this?

Have you muted your volume control by accident?

Your sound device is it on the mainbaord or a seperate card??

Have you tried installing the drivers?

haven't muted volume control, sound device is on the mainboard, and yes have tried installing drivers.

* error messages:- can't play music because there is a problem with ur sound devices.
* Multimedia Audio Controller :- volume control, - no active mixer devices
* " " " " " Properties, - This device isn't working properly not using any resources due to a problem .

error id : -0xC00D11BA
condition is: - 0X00000000

sound recorder can't play because a sound device is not installed.
tried to install a sound device thru c.panel, then add hardware, this failed because no software could be found.

As u can c I have tried to fix problem but I don not no wot 2 do anymore, anymore suggestions would b truly appreciated.

i know you have had the computer to search for the sound device, havent you had the chance to manually select the device.

Have you tried a system restore?

I really need help with my sound device. now i can't listen to my music or when i go on msn i can't here when someone IM's me. it's really boring being on the computer without music.
