Canon CanoScan N340P

Hi all, just after some help involving the installation of a scanner. Everytime I go to install the software from the disc onto the computer I get the following message...........

16 bit Windows Subsystem
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT
The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.

Same thing came up for the printer but its printing without the software installed. It worked fine on 98se but this has been my first attempt with xp pro, ive sussed it out and says it does work on xp but thats about all I know on the matter. Does anyone know why im getting this message? Any help is muchly appreciated. Thanks in advance, timbo.

Have a look there, should fix any problems you have while installing that scanner
