Question Need some CCleaner instruction

I've just down loaded Crap Cleaner, ran it and got 310mb freed up... Thanks for the Tip Owen.

However, I'm a little confused on what the Applications tab does. Does it just clear out temp files for the listed Programs, or does it remove those programs? I'm a little scared, becasue it's listing several programs I use/need.

If you hit the Analyze button you will see this list without removing.

But they are mostly temp files; logs; history & cookies.

I regularly clean these with no problems.

Thanks, I figured it wasn't deleteing programs, but I wanted to be safe.

How safe is the registry cleaner? Is it foolhardy to just let it 'fix' everything it finds?

Re: Need some CCleaner instruction

In my opinion the Registry Cleaner is safe.

It is not a very "deep" scan however. For a free Reg cleaner I prefer:

http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm

It's a bit more thorough & it creates backups.

You may find that you have to log back into sites that remembered your password.
