Re: vhs to dvd/vcd help

As far as I knew, there is no way to connect your VHS player into a computer. I was always told that there were special VHS machines made for computers, which are completely different.

A VHS player is designed to play the movie, but a proper Computer VHS converts the images into data, which is then stored into the computer.

Correct me if im wrong here, but I do not think that a simple VHS machine, that plugs into your TV, will plug into your computer. You need to check your nearest store for this, 99% chance you will have to order one in. In any event, check ebay.com.

Hope this helps, sorry if this bursted your bubble,
Beefa

Re: vhs to dvd/vcd help

Is the Belkin unit just a standard DVD recorder or is it a unit specially designed for video editing?

What I'm getting at is ...... have you plugged the S-VHS connector into a S-video INPUT in your computer or a S-video output? Most PCs will a S-VHS connector can only send signals out, not read signals in.

Same goes for the audio.
