Can not restore from cd

I had a crash with my Micron 950, running WinXP Pro. Up and running now. However, I have lost all of Famly Tree Maker infomation.
I am using FTM 6.0 I had backed up my data on 5 floppy disks and the 3rd disk brings up "A serious internal error" and shuts down the program. I also have a backup on cd which I burned with my cd writing program, (Sony Extreme). FTM will not recconize the backups as a FTM file, although it has FBC extension. I did try to copy cd to hard drive. I'm sorry I am not too computer savy. I copied it into a new folder in my documents. I tried to copy it to FTM folder that didn't work either. Is there a way to extract the files ? Please help. This is 5 yrs worth of work. Thanking you in advance for your time and consideration.

Try contacting the Family Tree Maker tech support, they may have some suggestions for you. HTH

Thank, but I have already done that. They were of little help. Just told me the program was not designed for winXP. Although I have been using in Xp for several years. If I could extract the file to a word processor I would re-type all the info. Just can't find a program that will extract this kind of compressed file. Thanks Again for you help.

I'm sorry I wasn't able to be of more assistance, maybe someone else here will have some suggestions for you.

try disabling all your anti-virus software, and then try and boot from the floppy discs again (if you havent deleted them).

Jen Eric, You are a genius !!!!. Yes it worked I will be forever in debt to you. You saved 5 years worth of work. After disabling anti-virus the original floppy backup restored fine. Thank You! Thank You!!!!
