copies pause during playback

I occassionally copy dvd's for my own pleasure, I use DVD Shrink 3.2 and Nero for burning. It seems to copy and burn perfectly adequate, but on playback on family dvd player, it pauses randomly, like hanging or maybe buffering, so there's very little pleasure to be had trying to watch and make sense of the storyline. I have not long started copying, and not much further than a novice on the PC, so could some kind, knowledgeable person enlighten me on a way to overcome this problem. Thank You Kindly.
