Cd/dvd rw not workin

My cd/cd-r e drive will read cds to play them but will not burn discs keeps coming up no cdr in drive when there is a blank one in there have nero have unistalled it and re-installed it, help we are reallly stuck

have you tried a diferent cd?
tried a diferent burning prog. like wmp or using "drag & drop" in windows explorer and then click burn these files to cd, try these and see if it works

Have tried that does it on media player as well, is it poss the cd drive has had it or is there anything else I can check?

you could try re-installing the drivers for the drive, do you have an instilation disk?
if not what is the make and model of your re-writer?

no dont have the disk its a hp intel caleron hp pavillion standard disc drive think its less than a year old my partner got it from his bro
How do I check the drivers anyway???

im not too sure about the hp intel caleron i think you may be getting confused with the processor (intel celeron)
download and install this program: http://www.belarc.com/Programs/advisor.exe

what does it say under "Drives"? (it should list your hard drive(s) and cd/dvd drive(s)
