daisy Is a beginner here at D-A-L
conpaq connections.exe
When I load windows xp a box pops up saying filename conpaq connections.exe is missing a" can anyone tell me how to get rid of the box popping up or fix this

Do you mean Compaq connections? if so try this:

....click Start/Run/msconfig and uncheck Compaq Connections, then reboot.
You will need to go to the "startup" tab on msconfig to find compaq connections
