Problem Recording Music onto these CD-RWs

hey everyone, I Have some blank CD-Rw's but cant burn music from my computer to the disk, my pc does record music but I dont know what could be wrong..


here is what the disk that I cant record music say:

Memorex Ultra Speed CD-RW 24X / 700Mb / 80 min


Here are the disks I usually use to burn music and save files too say:

CD-Rw 700Mb / 80min / 1x-4x


Is there a way that I can use the Memorex CD-RWs so that I can burn Music onto? Thnx guys

What is the make & model of the drive/burner?

It would be listed under the Device Manager: Start/Run/ devmgmt.msc

hey thanks for responding, I did what you said but I dont know which one is the make and model of the drive, can you give me some more instructions, Im sorry but Im still a newbie on the computer thanks

Click the + next to DVD/CD-ROM drives

That should list your drive make & model.

We can then look online (or you can look in your manual) to see if those Ultra Speed CD-RW 24X disks are compatible.

ok got it, I clicked on it and it shows this:

HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8400B


Samsung CD-ROM SC-148C

When you insert a blank Memorex Ultra Speed CD-RW 24X is the disk recognised?

If inserted is it seen if you click the HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8400B under My Computer?

hi, no its not seen when i click on HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8400B

If the drive works OK with other disks I am going to reasonably guess that those CD's are not compatible.

is there a way to make them compatible? thnx
