C++ Runtime Error with Pinnacle

Hallo,
Trying to burn some video to dvd with Pinnacle 9SE and get a C++ runtime error message, Pinnacle are no help. I've googled the error message but can't seem to find a solution that works. I've tried installing Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 5 as someone suggested without success. Another suggestion was re-installing the kernel32.dll but as it may have become corrupted. I d/l one but noticed that it is only 97.6kb as opposed to the 960kb in my System32 folder. Should I try replace the kernel.dll?
Any help or advice would be much appreciated,

Is this a new problem? Were things working OK previously? Any new hardware and or software?

If this is a new problem try a System Restore to a point prior to the problem:

start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore


That file you downloaded may be zipped (compressed) in which case you need to unzip (extract) it.
