Copying to DVD.

Hi all.

At the mo I'm using "Ahead Nero 5". I don't no if it is me or not, but I am unable to use it properly. It takes me ages to copy over some files.

What I would like to know: Is there a free, user friendly, copy files to DVD for idiots software out there?

I want to use Cd's and DVDs mainly for photos, and design drawings.

If there is anything else you wish to know, please don't hesitate to ask.

ATB Gary.

Re: Copying to DVD.

Hi, I'm back again.

I am starting to think that there is no one out there who knows of a user friendly DVD burner.

I have a hard drive nearly full to the brim with photographs and plans just dieing to move to DVD. Surely someone knows something.

Re: Copying to DVD.

With nero do you just drag and drop the files to be copied? Usually a window is on the right of the screen for selecting files to copy.

Alternatively you can just right click all pictures in a folder and choose 'send to' cdrw or dvd to copy the files.

Re: Copying to DVD.

Hiya Tassie.

Sometimes I can drag & drop, other times nothing happens. Up until the other day I had only used Cd's. When I tried to multisession a DVD I was unable to tick the box.

I have been able to copy some drawings to Cd, but, they are now read only. I didn't want read only.

Basically I'm flumaxed, (Ive got the feeling that's spelt wrong). So really I was just wondering if there is an idiot proof DVD burner out there. Something I can copy my pics and drawings to, with the aim of going back to edit them. (Basically, I want to use my DVDs as floppy disks).

Thanks for replying Tassie Devil.

ATB Gary.

Re: Copying to DVD.

Don't know what this one is like but its free so worth a try. http://www.cdburnerxp.se/features.php

Any drawing on a cd or dvd will be read only and if you try to edit, it wont save changes. You would have to reburn the drawing. The only option for what you want to do with drawings would be to get a 1gb memory stick/flash drive. They operate like a floppy so you can edit each file.

Thanks Tassie Devil, I'll give that software a go.

Memory sticks, of course, I forgot all about them.

Many thanks Tassie.

Re: Copying to DVD.

WOW, I have just had a quick look at these flash drives, there's loads.

Can anyone recommend a 1GB one, or do I just buy the cheapest?
Are they all the same?

Thanks for listening.

Re: Copying to DVD.

I think the mid range price ones are the best buy. I have a 1gb Lexar and a 512mb Kingston. Had both for over 12 months with no problem. Here's just a few prices http://froogle.google.com/froogle?bt...gb+flash+drive
