What happens if you've installed a hotfix/security patch for WMD9 and 10.. do we have to uninstall them?

In my experience WMP 11 will install over/removing previous versions.

I am getting the 'open with' box EVERYTIME I try and play something after installing 11.

Is this on all file types?

Do you have Real Player and or QuickTime installed also? Or K-Lite Codec?

Try going to start > Set Program Access and Defaults

Set WMP as the default media player.

Tried that.

It is showing Real Player and WinAmp in 'non-microsoft' have access where WMP is removed.

In Custom I have them unchecked.
