Re: best spam application
There are always lots of different opinions on which is the best anti-spam / anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-hacker, anti-whatever. In a lot of cases, it's down to personal preference. Also, the "best" could mean different things to different people - you might mean the most automated, the most sophisticated, the most cost-effective, the most up-to-date, etc.
I have always used Norton Antispam because it is built into Norton Internet Security which is my favourite anti-virus / firewall / anti-spyware / anti-spam bundle suite. It's not especially clever but it integrates nicely with both Outlook and Outlook Express and it's very easy to use.
The smartest anti-spam solution is probably not software at all. You can actually get hardware devices that filter out spam before it even reaches your PC. You can also subscribe to services with companies such as Message Labs, whose sole business is to be experts in filtering your mail before you even start to download it. These are REALLY expensive solutions though - targeted at businesses rather than home users.
