Cannot install Adobe :hammer

I don't know which forum this should be posted to, If it should be moved to a more relevant one please let me know which one ....

So here goes....
Was running reader 7.0.9 and was auto-offered upgrade to 8.0.
Installation stopped with "previous version cannot be removed"

Next, Un-installed reader 7.0.9 using CLEANSE UNINSTALLER 2.5 which removed all files ( though noted that the app. key[see Below] {AC76BA.....} could not be removed).

Attempted to install a downloaded version (From Adobe)of Reader 8.0
Same problem:
Symptoms--
Whilst in setup stage of "Removing Applications":
>>Error<<
"Cannot remove Application{AC76BA86-7AD7-1003-7B44-A70500000002}COMMAND LINE, UPG..."

On Exit... an Error Box has Message:
"Error1714: Older version of Adobe Reader 8 cannot be removed"

{AC76BA86-7AD7-1003-7B44-A70500000002} occurs in a number of places in the registry.

I am now stuck with no versions of Adobe Reader and cannot install until the reference is removed.

Any ideas what I should do as I now cannot use any version of Adobe reader?

The problem was solved using MS Windows Install Clean up Facility From MS Support,
Then reinstalling Reader 7.9 Remove using Add/Remove in control Panel Finally installing the Reader 8.0 downloaded version again.
Adobe support are aware of the issue and the removal procedure was derived from their support page.
