I was wondering if it was possible to put AVG along with all the latest updates onto a CD? so i can run scans from machines that aren't surrently connected to the net?
and if so how would i go about it?
It is possible, as it does not have to be on line to scan.
However one of the great advantages of AVG anti virusis, that it works constantly checking things as they come in from the internet. this gives you on line protection.
If you don't do that, and just do a scan occasionally then there is basically no point.
I think the poster is implying that a contaminated PC maybe in such a bad situation that it may not be easily possible to download the progam from Internet on that pc and therefore may not have any choice but to run it from CD.
