Adobe reader
Dear Dal, I can't open PDF files. I have adobe reader installed and also adobe standard. I recently removed a program called Nitro PDF and I'm wondering whether that removed something it shouldn't have, but in any case I reinstalled adobe reader and it still doesn't work. Can someone please help me.
Best regards
Terry

Re: Adobe reader
Have you tried (re)associating PDF files with Adobe Acrobat Reader? (ie; Always open with...)

Re: Adobe reader
Find a .pdf file. Right click on it and choose "Open with", and in the drop down "box" that appears click "Choose program". (Even though Acrobat Reader is listed.)
In the window that opens, locate Adobe Acrobat Reader. Click on it. Then below, place a checkmark in the box for "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file".
If it still doesn't work, we'll have to "hard associate" it.
Post back with your results.

Re: Adobe reader
Hi Dan, tried that but it didn't work. Got the error message "acrobat plug in', "could not launch acrobat". Any ideas?
Cheers,
Terry

Re: Adobe reader
Dan, rang Adobe and they advised me to remove the previous version of adobe reader and that worked. Thanks for your effort, Terry

Re: Adobe reader
Did you do an uninstall of Acrobat reader before you reinstalled it? (This sometimes helps.)
Another alternative (which I use) is Foxit Reader.
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php
Much better in my opinion. Less overhead etc.

Oops. Didn't see your last post. I went straight from my email notification of your #5 post to a reply.
Glad you got it sorted.
