PDF Editor Needed

I am trying to edit (change, delete, and insert) text in a PDF file without changing any of the surrounding graphics, formatting, etc. It is a printed form that I had created many years ago and that I need to edit for current use, but I only have a hard copy. I have scanned it to create the PDF file, but can't seem to do the editing. I have tried 6 different programs without success:

Acrobat 7
Scansoft
Nitro PDF Pro
Foxit PDF Editor
Nuance PDF 5
Software 995Edit

Some programs converted the file to WORD, but did not retain the graphics. Other programs retained the graphics, but only let me remove text by hiding it. They also let me add text, but not with the precise font and typsetting. I could cut and paste to create the result I want, but it will never line up as perfectly as if I could just edit the text in the PDF file directly.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Steve

Re: PDF Editor Needed

Check out this software, it might do exactly what you are looking for. That is a 30 day trial, but unfortunately the full version is $99. Still worth a try.

I tried, but the program couldn't read the file because it was a scanned image. The document I want to dit os sonething that I scanned using acrobat with OCR. Ideally, I need something that will leave the graphics untouched, but recognize the text so that I can edit the text in the same font and style.

Could I use photoshop to accomplish this or is photoshop only useful for pictures and not text?

Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks again

Steve

Re: PDF Editor Needed

If this is only one document I would try to copy first the text from pdf into Word and then insert the graphics in the appropriate places. The finished work you can then print back to pdf. If the text is ON the graphics, you can transfer the graphic first and then add the text in “textbox”. Then you will have some problem in deleting the original text, but it can be done by some graphic editor such as Irfanview. I know, it is a lot of work but I do it often enough.
