Need help with Datakeeper v 5 please

Hi

I've just installed 'Powerquest Data Keeper' version 5 to make incremental backups of my data. I've read through the Help files and understand most of what I'm supposed to be doing. However, the following is baffling to me. Can anyone help - or suggest which forum I should use if not?

"Optional) Save all the backup options you have chosen to a backup specification file (.DKS) for later use. Click File Save, type the filename for the backup specification file, then click Save.

This step is helpful if you often select different options based on the type of data you are backing up. You can later retrieve the .DKS file for use with other back ups you create. To retrieve the .DKS file, just click File Open, select the backup specification file you want, then click Open; all your backup options will be set."

The second paragraph makes no sense to me I'm afraid, specifically the sentence in bold. And there's this bit I don't get:

"When you start DataKeeper from a Windows shortcut on the desktop, DataKeeper will automatically run the backup specification file that you name. You may find it helpful to create a shortcut for each backup specification file that you have saved."

Is this suggesting I create more than one backup file? I'm not at all familiar with this kind of automatic backup software. Your help would be really appreciated.

Thanks
