Registry program error message

I run a registry program called Registrar Registry Manager to help me manually clean uninstall registry entries. It was working fine until I fooled around with a new tweak program. I think deleted something related to opening it.

Right now, when I click on the Registry Manager icon, I get an error message that says in the title bar "Registrar Registry manager: rr.exe - Unable To Locate Component", and below that it says "This application has failed to start because OLEACC.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"

After that though, the program does open just fine, but I get that error message consistantly every time I want to open it.

I did try reinstalling the program over the original, but that did not help. Then I uninstalled the program, then reinstalled it, but I still get the same error message.

I should mention that I run Vista Basic x64 and this program runs in the x64 Program Files.

Have any idea how to fix this?

Re: Registry program error message

You can try restoring the OLEACC.dll by running System File Checker.
I don't use Vista. I'm a Linux user but it should be the same as XP.
Open Run and in the box type in SFC

If it says you don't have the proper privileges close the Run box, highlight the Run command, right click on it and run it with elevated privileges.

Let SFC scan your system for missing files. If it finds that missing dll you can tell it to replace it.

Good luck!

Problem solved

TaZMAn,

Hey we meet again. I just got through writing you a huge reply to my video question post, so it's funny we meet again!

Actually I solved my problem with that error message I was getting while opening up Registry Manager. Funny thing is, I don't know how I did it! I was all ready to run sfc, like you said anyway, but first I tried registering the dll, which was indeed present in my System32 folder.

That did not help, but them, I was already planning on uninstalling a bunch of DVD burning programs anyway that day, so I left the error message problem for the time being and started uninstalling.

Well, maybe one of those programs was conflicting with Registry Manager or something, because after I removed a couple of them, I rebooted, clicked on the Registry Manager icon and it opened up without any error message.

Just one more little reminder that, just when we think we know everything about computers, they surprise us by "not going by the book"!
