Game crashing

everytime I try to play dvd games on my computer, the game will stop and I will be asked to send an error report to microsoft. The error report says that there was a problem with actofwar.exe. I don't know who to sort this out as I don't know much about computers, can anyone help?

Is it just one specific game or many? Has this game/s ever worked or have the problems just started.

This problem generally occurs when your graphics card is not compatible with the game you are attempting to apply. When I had my old Nvidia Geforce 4000MX Graphics Card, it was not compatible with quite a few titles from Ubisoft. When I attempted to play using the card, the games would produce this error.

Games used to play just fine, but recently the computer crashes every time my son trys to play a game, even when playing runescape online. Sometimes it will say that the .exe file has encountered a problem and needs to shut down, othertimes it just switches off and reboots constantly. The computer is only 8mths old so I'm hoping graphics card isn't out of date. the video card(is this the graphics card?) is an ATI RADEON 9200 Series, I'm using windows xp home edition and the processor is intel pentium 4 3ghz. Any ideas as to what might be wrong?

You shouldn't have any hardware problems then, your graphics card (I call it graphics card, sometimes others call them video cards, same thing) is the same as mine and should be capable. Your computer may be struggling to handle the games due to being slightly "clogged up". I you don't clean out your PC regularly and have too many things running, these can all be keys to crashing applications and games. Have a read of this post I wrote some time ago, outlining the many steps to clearing out your PC. Try to grow through all of these and give your PC a good clean. Then try the games again.
