Why isnt my maple story working? Its saying fail to find proper screen mode for gr2d

OK ... sorry ... I just tried on my computer what I was advising you to do and it does not work that way.

You mentioned restoring your computer which I assume you mean reinstalling XP again?

If you do so I would leave out the 7GB hard drive and put everything on the 100GB.

In the beginning you said you were forced to use a reboot disk.

By this do you mean you reinstalled XP? If so what disk did you use?

A Microsoft XP CD or a Recovery CD from your computer manufacturer?

If the latter what is the make and model of the computer?

I used a Windows XP disk

With the Windows XP disk did you run a Clean Install or a Repair install?

In a worse case scenario I would suggest running a Clean Install and put XP on the 100GB drive.

But before we go there I would still try to get this driver to load.

Have you Saved the driver to your hard drive?

If so what exactly happens when you try to run it?

Did you uninstall all nVidia programs from Add/Remove programs?

Another try would be to do this in Safe Mode. To access Safe Mode restart the computer and tap the F8 key after the BIOS POST or motherboard logo screen and before XP starts. Then choose Safe Mode and see if the driver will install that way.

i did a clean install
and safe mode doesnt work
and i dont kno how to install XP onto the 100GB one

Are you getting the same errors trying to install the driver?

I really think that somehow you should be able to install this driver.

If you choose to reinstall XP I would physically remove the 7 GB hard drive from your computer and set the 100 GB as Master then Clean Install XP onto it and start from scratch.

If you want to try this driver some more please refresh me/us on what errors you are getting.

Sorry this isn't easier but it's the best I can do from here.

Another thought is to try this older driver and see if you get the same errors.

I am just making my best observation from this distance that the driver error pointing out the E: drive was suspicious.

In general this should all be on C:

There are other things to try if you want. You could go to E: and open the files and search for nvidia and manually delete all finds for a starter.

I would not advise something if I thought that it would screw up anyone's computer.

That being said I 'm sure which option you are considering.

I would recommend first doing a thorough search for any nvidia files on both C: and E: and delete them and try reinstalling either the latest or perhaps an older nvidia driver.

Reloading XP would be a final option. As to removing the 7 GB drive I think in the long run you'd be better off without it but again I would first try getting the nvidia drivers to work.
