Re: MapleStory - "failed in finding proper screen mode for Gr2D"

In general if you have the latest DirectX and the latest graphics drivers then that error indicates that your graphics device is not adequate for this game.

If you want verify that do you know what your graphics device is?

Go to the Device Manager: start/run devmgmt.msc

Click + next to Display adapters

What is listed?

Re: MapleStory - "failed in finding proper screen mode for Gr2D"

Did you install this driver:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_91.31.html

Also note:
Quote:
Driver Installation Hints

"Download Accelerator" utilities should be disabled when downloading any drivers.

Do not run virus protection software in the background while installing the drivers. This prevents the driver from configuring itself properly.

Before installing new drivers make sure you uninstall all NVIDIA display drivers from the Windows Control Panel. Browse to the Start Menu > Windows Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and search for "NVIDIA Windows Display Drivers" or "NVIDIA Display Drivers" and select remove.
Also is this the DirectX that you have:

Re: MapleStory - "failed in finding proper screen mode for Gr2D"

As mentioned that error indicates an inadequate device or driver.

You might try this scan:
