Steam error

For some reason Steam says it's already running when I boot up my computer and I've tried running the software it says on the Steam forums but it's incompatible with Windows Vista and no spyware programs have found anything. Does anyone know what's up?

Check your task manager and see if another process of steam is running under the processes tab and end it and try running it again.

See thats the weird thing it doesn't show any process of Steam whatsoever running in the background

Not really sure what it could be. Best bet is to completely uninstall and or delete the steam folder from your program files and reinstall steam.

I completely uninstalled Steam and the problem is still persisting. I'll take it to the other side of the forum and see if it's spyware.
