Why isnt my maple story working? Its saying fail to find proper screen mode for g

Hi everyone, I realize that there are tons of other threads with this same problem, but I can't seem to find one that works for my computer.
I recently got my computer wiped but before I was able to play maplestory. Now I get failure of Gr2d screen. After i downloaded the 9.0 update, it won't finish installing the 9.0 update, it says it cannoct connect to database???? it has not workeed what is wrong?

Help me please!!!
