Re: Big Picture
LOL. As I am a working class Manufacturing Electrician who after numerous years of living when America was a industrial nation. You see I moved Tonka Toys in 1997 to China. "Tonka Toys Mind you". I have to laugh at the photos because if I don't I'll cry. No McDonalds or Starbucks photos,so much for free trade improving jobs in America. I wish I hadn't looked. Brought back some memories,
Nice photos though Jeph.

Re: Big Picture
Hahaha great pics! No. 6 I was looking for the real dog hidden between snoopies Hey Roky, have you ever heard of Tonka Trains? Seeing you mention the Tonka toys from years ago just made this pop into mind. Oh, and might I mention although they look like toys, they're real. Got some pretty nice ones, but no Rough and Roudy Hard Core bikes I'm afraid

Nope. First I've heard if it K9. Dubai Huh? You know Tonka means Big in a Indian Language from the Indians that live In Minnesota. It comes from the Word Minnetonka (which translates into Big Lake)

Re: Big Picture
I worked for Tonka for quite a few years. I Moved them from Minnesota To Texas. Then Moved them from Texas to China and Mexico. I picked up on it's history while I worked there. I didn't have to google anything K9. It's just life long experience.

Re: Big Picture
Wow! You've done quite a lot of travelling around then, I would have never expected to hear about you travelling to China. You seem more of the US dreamer living it up your expectations. What with the ranch and your lifestyle etc. Just wow.
I can see where you picked up the history from now, how long did you stay in each of these places for then?

Re: Big Picture
China for 3 months with chinese engineers following me with video cameras to film how I connected everything up. It was because they didn't have the schematics any more for how Punch Presses, Paint line, and a lot of other depts. were wired up. Alot of the upgrading from Analog controls to PC Controls was done by me and it was all in my head and not on Paper. I only knew the codes, how to attach complex Harnesses with all wires being the same colors. I told ya I worked for Tonka for a long while. And I knew as soon as I was done I was out of a job.
Mexico I traveled of and on through the years working on Plastic Injection Molding Presses. I'd spend a week. Then a couple/few months later corporate would call me up and ask to look at something. I'd go to Jaurez and Tijuana and find that their maint. guys had put floor dry in the hydraulic tanks thinking they would fix a leak at the pumps like radiator stop leak fixes a car engine water leak.
Minnesota was more like 1 month there disassembling the plant there and then putting it back together in Elpaso TX for 2 to 3 months then back to Minnesota again. I won't purchase a hasbro product for my grandkids anymore. Nor Mattel for that matter. I am kinda picky on what I purchase any more, depending on the company that sells the product.

Re: Big Picture
Wow! Yes, you have been travelling around a lot haven't you. I don't see why people can't just choose a job they love and stick with it. But then again... humans... so indecisive
Hey Dobhar, at least you've done travelling around before. People like me who don't have a passport yet generally stay in the smaller regions and travel at the most 500miles via car. Furthest I've been is Scotland But hey, then again I adore the countryside so I'm quite happy to go hiking and camping in the rain... and staying in Wales is a favourite.
Haha, don't get me wrong, I'm getting my passport so I can go travelling when my exams are over
