Sarah and I come over to Las Vegas we love the desert we got married there in 01 we only play the slots but dont go there for the gambling but for the shows and the other things you can do there. We have been out there four times and usualy stay one week on the strip and one week Downtown. We usualy meet up with a friend from LA while we are there he is an expat who went over to the US in the sixties, his Mum & Dad also moved over. Problem it is the air fare it is so expencive even but cheap when you get there.

It sounds like fun. Holly and I right before I broke the foot went on a trp seeing relatives in Alabama,Mississippi,Louisiana and Austin Texas. Of course since Holly loves to gamble we hit the Paddle Boat Casinos. Spent all my time in the Kiddee arcade gaming area while she gambled. We drove on our trip cuz we decided it is too much of a hassle to fly with the paranoia and lack of control invovled besides Holly is deathly afraid of flying. Yeah, prices for air travel are going up to the point where only the very wealthy pretty soon will be the only ones to afford it.. I grew up a military brat and have lived from Alaska to Florida and New Jersey to California and I like the desert best. No restrictioma on personel freedoms and the law enforcement out here id usually common sense. No Hurricanes,Tornados,Floods or Fires either. It aint a real exciting place for somebody younger in there 20's I'd say but for a old git like me it suits me just fine.

I myself don't have a passport and therefore cannot go abroad, but i like to see other people flying off to have a good time... and whence they return they find a nice hefty bill in the post

Do you have any plans for your next US trip? If you find a cash all the way roulette board, gimme a bell, i'll come join you

As for your PC technicians course... ahem... well, as far as i know, if you don't have a mother board, then you're computer ain't gonna work

I don't think i'd be the best of help.

As soon as I get up and about and finish the construction of my new Motorcycle shop I'm jumping on the bike solo and cruzin out to Phoenix Arizona to see my Mom and Lil Sister. If the wife has any vacation left she is welcome to jump on her bike and come with. I don't think she will though. Thats why I say i'll probably go solo.

Hi k_9 & rokytnji ladies first you know,

yes yes I know I am a old smoothy

I have always fancied doing Route 66 well some of it from San Fransisco
to Vegas via Oatman on a Harley but I think I am getting a little to old for that besides Sarah wouldn't come on as a pillion. I think what I like about the desert roads is the distance you can see as we here in the UK are not used to see the black ribbon of road dead straight disappear into the distance, and not seeing another person for hours just being alone with nature, fantastic. In the Vally of Fire you can see rock paintings made by the Native Americans done thousands of years ago by an extinct tribe, incredible. Strange to us Scotties Castle in Death Vally which was built in the 1930's as a historical building we as we think of buildings as being historical being built from 1066's to the 19th century of course many earlier such as Canterbury Cathedral and my old parish church was of Saxon origin. But of course you in Texas have the Alamo.

Well as to K_9 and her roulette every casino has a roulette table great fun watching some people win and many losing I would like a go at the craps table but don't know how to play it something to do with the numbers on the dice, but Texas hold em is the game to play if you don't mind loosing loads of dosh. We like Vegas not for the gambling, but for the sights,
entertainment, the tours, and the Grand Canyon, no picture or video can depict the enormity or the beauty of it, it is one of the seven wonders of the world, ten miles wide, one mile deep and from Bright Angel point you can see 90 miles 45 miles to the left and 45 miles to the right, I don't think one word would describe it, it is majestic, fantastic, beautiful, almost beyond belief. Thank you K_9 for offering to help me with my studdieng shame you are like me and don't know much about computers, it would like blind leading the blind wouldent it.

Forgot to add in my last post: Roky, where you live sounds like the perfect place for my likings. Do you get much rain besides it being desert? that would make it even better for one like myself. Wales would be my ideal home in the UK, close to mountains, as far away from the beach as possible and somewhere surrounded by lots of outdoor activity

I would love to visit Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe; you can't put a price on natural beauty...unlike the air fare.

Apparently, when you visit Vic. Falls, you're recommended to stay at the Victoria Falls Hotel, this hotel must do wonders for the tourism and would definitely reap in the cash.

And now, people have decided that they're not happy enough with "7 natural wonders," now we have a list of "7 man made wonders" too. Here is the list:

1. Chichen Itza, Mexico
2. Christ Redeemer, Brazil
3. Coloseum, Italy
4. Taj Mahal, India
5. Great Wall of China, China (obviously)
6. Petra, Jordan
7. Machu Picchu, Peru

I have only ever heard of no. 3, 4 and 5
