msiefr40.dll and rundll32.dll (Resolved)

Ummmm, yea sooo when I startup I get this error that the computer could not find msiefr40.dll and then another error that I didn't really look at. And then after I close them my computer is fine. What are these? I was also told rundll32 and msiefr40 are spyware/adware. If they are, which means I erased msiefr40, why would the computer be looking for it? Also, in my task list I have 3 or 4 instances of rundll32 running? What are those?
I have Windows ME btw.

Re: msiefr40.dll and rundll32.dll

rundll32 is legit. Its used for registering DLL files and is often used as startup. Sometimes similar files are created to fool users into deleting the legit files.

Read the Hijack This Logs post at the top of this forum. Run the appropriate programs and then post a Hijack This log.

Re: msiefr40.dll and rundll32.dll

It's cool, as a rookie at interpeting HJT files I won't attempt to work your log. But even with my limited experience I see many problems. Once Owen or DJ or Dal get a look at it I'm sure they will keep you busy for a while getting rid of allot of nasties

ok thats my hijackthis log and i know i did something a wrong. Now at startup i get 2 errors one of them is the same and the other cant find some other dll now. Also, many of my programs think I have a 56k modem now instead of a dsl modem. I have NO IDEA what is going on. This is probbaly because I deleted only some of the stuff u told me and not all. First of all i could not find C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~2\TOOLBAR and it wont let me delete inetp60.dll cuz it says windows is using it. I also deleted e6f1873b.dll but not stl6(or b i tried both)2.dll because i couldn't find it and I also could not find and delete D0CE0C16B1. Once again I have no idea what to do, I would appreciate if you could look at my hijackthis log again, thanx

also, now realplayer starts up at startup no matter what i do, how can i fix that?
