shdoclc.dll/dnserror - cannot get on at all now

Hello,

I have seen previous updates on this issue but I would like to know what I can do as I cannot get onto internet at all. Spybot will not update due to above error. I was replacing shdoclc.dll file from floppy disk through msconfig and this would get me onto net for a while then I would repeat process if buggered again but this no longer works.

I am currently on library computer and could you please suggest best course of action.

I suggest you try and get Hijack This onto floppy disk and then put the log generated by it back onto disk and post it here. Instructions for downloading and running Hijack This are in my signature.

hey i don't know if this is gonna help but i was racking my brain out with the same problem but after a simple change of settings i was able to get my IE working. All I did was go to Tools > Internet Options > Connections > Settings and UNCHECK the proxy server option and voila! it worked for me. In my case, that's all it took. If that didn't help..then i am my own computer genius. Good luck, bro.
