thyckl.exe [Outlook Express]

A friend bought a new laptop and I installed the usual Spybot/Adaware/HJT tools so I can get him out of trouble if he gets into any, but AVG won't go.

When I try to install AVG, the self extractor window just closes and the whole process disappears. When I tried to run HJT the same thing happened until I changed the name from HijackThis to Pooh and now it runs fine. I tried this with AVG but no joy. MSCONFIG won't run either, it just opens and closes immediately.

I neglected to send myself the HJT log and I'm now at home on my own PC, but the only thing I could see which I consider to be a foreign body was an 04 entry called thyckl.exe [Outlook Express]. Google returned nothing.

Neither Adaware or Spybot picked anything up, but since I can't run AVG I'm stuck there. I searched for files named thyckl, found one in the system folder if I remember correctly and backed up and deleted it. I deleted the entries (it appeared twice) from the HJT log and restarted but it resumed.

Any ideas folk? Any help very much appreciated.

Could you post your Hijack This log here and I'll take a look. It sounds like something nasty on there is shutting down security programs. Thanks.
