Re: Winad.exe & Winad Client-Bullseye Network

You were being helped in a similar post but you never posted a reply to HJThis who helped you out. See here.

I owe you an apology for the response time, I have been on holiday and therefore have been unable to respond

Close all browser windows, restart Hijack This and put a checkmark next to the following entries:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = about:blank
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = about:blank
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {83DE62E0-5805-11D8-9B25-00E04C60FAF2} - C:\Windows\2_0_1browserhelper2.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Winad Client] C:\PROGRAM FILES\WINAD CLIENT\WINAD.EXE
O16 - DPF: {15AD4789-CDB4-47E1-A9DA-992EE8E6BAD6} - http://public.windupdates.com/get_f... 50a99864d481d

Click Fix Checked

Then boot into Safe Mode and ensure that you are showing Hidden Files and Folders.

Delete the following files and folders:
C:\PROGRAM FILES\WINAD CLIENT

Reboot and post a fresh log

Angry Re: Winad.exe & Winad Client-Bullseye Network

Hello Owen,
Thank you for your reply and to be honest with you as far as I knew(until your reply) I thought I did reply. When i say I did reply i mean the last reply i wrote was:
Quote:
Hi HJthis,
Again, thanks for your fast reply and yes I did reboot quite a few times but to no avail.
It did fix the 123 Mania and the dial up but it slowed down my PC too.
Anyway, I cannot thank you enaugh for your time and your help for removing the 123 Mania.
Regards,
Flamur
By this, i thought i already told him that I removed what i needed to remove I thanked him and I didnt come back to check if there is a reply since I didn't expected to be one. But that's not all. The following day I've got an error which I had no option but to format my disk.
As for your reply regarding Winad Client, as you probably know I was hijacked much later than my first HijackThis log and after the advice to get something to guard my system, I did that and the very same day I was Hicjaked again
I removed those files and I went to ADD/REMOVE programs to remove one of those files/program and when I clicked to remove the last one which was FIND.exe or something like this, once i clicked remove the whole system was removed. I couldnt access anything on my PC and all i could see was there is no operating system). Guess what I did? I had to format again.
Finally, thank you for your reply and I cannot apologise enough to HJThis for not replying to his last message.
Regards
Flamur

If you are comfortable navigating the registry you can search there for the entry. start/run/regedit/edit/find and do a search for the file. to be safe back up your registry before deleting anything.

I believe you are refering to my last reply about how a program called FIND.EXE removed my OS as well.
Well as I said before I had no choice but to format the disk and now since my hard drive is formatted, I don't think I will find the FIND.EXE.
In another words I solved this problem by formatting(unwillingly) the hard drive.
Thanks for your advice though
Kind Regards

Re: Winad.exe & Winad Client-Bullseye Network

Sorry flamur,
Sometimes it appears that people are being rude not replying and they are and other times it appears and they aren't. The circumstances change, my apologies. We used to get a lot of posts where we helped and people never replied and it was very annoying. Did my post sort your Winad problems or did you Format after my post?

Edit: I guess you formatted after my posts to resolve your problems. If you have a read of this info, it will help prevent problems like this returning:

Preventing it returning

After your problem has been resolved on the forum, it is an absoulute MUST to do the following steps to prevent the problem returning. Click on the link to get access to the software or webpage that I'm referring to.

1. Visit Windows Update
Pay a visit to Windows Update and scan for and download ALL Critical Updates and Service Packs. New updates are usually released monthly so check back to Windows Update every month.

2. Download Antivirus Software-
If you haven't already got Antivirus software, you should download and install AVG Antivirus. It is freeware and is updated nearly every 2 days (sometimes more frequently if there are a lot of new viruses) and in my opinion, is better than some Antivirus software such as Norton. Antivirus software will prevent viruses infecting your system and it is important that you update it every two days or every week at the most.

3. Download a Firewall-
If you haven't already got a firewall, it is Very important that you download one. Firewalls will prevent unauthorised access to your computer and stop data leaking out of your computer. You may think that it won't happen to you, but Hackers don't care who you are, what you do, where you live or what you had for tea last Sunday on your holiday in the Lake District, they want your data. Firewalls will keep these sneaks out and one of the best is Sygate Personal Firewall, which happens to be freeware.

4. Spyware Scanners-
It is important that as well as having real time spyware protection, you have a spyware scanning application. If you have not already been told to download one earlier in this thread, it is a good idea to download Spybot Search And Destroy and Ad-aware. They are both spyware scanners and will search for a remove spyware. It is recommended that you have both, because one will pick up entries that the other misses. It is even a good idea to download these if you have other programs such as ASE, Spysweeper, Pest Patrol, etc, because one spyware scanner will not pick up everything. Please remember to update your spyware scanners weekly/fortnightly.

5. Prevent Spyware slipping through Internet Explorer-
Quite a lot of spyware slips through Internet Explorer if your settings are not tight enough. Spyware Blaster will help you prevent spyware slipping through and installing tracking cookies. Simply run it via Start> Programs> Spyware Blaster and click Enable All Protection and it will protect you. It doesn't even have to be open! Remember to update weekly/fortnightly.

6. Constant Spyware Protection-
It is important to have constant spyware protection. Spyware Guard works like an antivirus program but detects Spyware instead. It will constantly protect your system. Check for updates monthly.

All Of these steps are very important and it is HIGHLY recommended that you download all of the programs mentioned for your own safety. Remember to Update everything (including Windows using Windows Update)! It is also a good idea to perform weekly/fortnightly scans with Spybot S&D, Ad-aware and your antivirus software.

And last of all, please remember, that common sense is your greatest tool. Without it, spyware and other related Malware would rule!

Re: Winad.exe & Winad Client-Bullseye Network

Hi Owen,
Well i formatted my disk twice since my first post and it was before your post yes.
I formatted because as i told you by trying to remove a program which Hijacked my PC, even though I had protection on my PC .
As for your apologies, don't worry mate because I would've felt frustrated if someone would come here, ask for help and never come back to say thanks, or at least, tell you that you have solved their problem. I'd probably have them removed from forum as well
Anyway, thanks again for you time and help.
God Bless You All
Kind regards
Flamur
