" ~ " file on desktop

I have a problem with what I think is a trojan virus. Every week or so I get a file on my desktop named ' ~ ', I have opened the file using MS Word and can make out addresses form my e-mail address book. I have scanned my computer and Outlook Express with McAfee, AdAware and NoAdware, but the file reappears. Is the contents of my address book being sent each time and how can I fix this.

Its nothing to worry about, see here. I suggest getting all Critical Updates from http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com.
