Re: is there something in there

Hi HGD and thanks for wanting to help poor suckers like me. I have tried to follow the links and directions you have posted, however i was unable to complete searches whith "computer cops" as my connection was often refused
"what the !". I did find "Isass.exe" was dodgy but because I'm a computer
dunce I'm not sure how to get rid of it.I am sure my computer is infected with something. I cant seem to be able to update "spybot" so i downloaded updates
from their home page but when i tried to scan, it took about 1 second and found nothing. THIS IS NOT NORMAL! bugger!.I have tried to close access to internet
explorer and generally tighten my security settings but "things" are still
happening, crashes,refused connections,unexplained restarts etc.
I'm thinking of cures involving bricks or buckets of water !
My computer savvy friends say i'm having a baptism of fire as tis is my second
nasty event in the six months i've had a computer.
Sorry for unloading my dispair on you, hope you can give some more advice

Talking Re: is there something in there

Hi,stue

Well i don't see a lot here just these

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

These 2 here not sure if it is something you added if no or not using fix them
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = c:\WINDOWS\PCHEALTH\HELPCTR\System\panels\blank.ht m
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = c:\WINDOWS\PCHEALTH\HELPCTR\System\panels\blank.ht m

Same as above if you did not add or using fix it
O1 - Hosts: mail.optusnet.com.au

O9 - Extra button: (no name) - AutorunsDisabled - (no file)

Then just close out of HijackThis see how it is & can you
till me what is the problem you are having.

& yes if it's lsass.exe it is legit but please give me the full path
of the file

HGD
