OMG!!!!! Great news!!!

HGD, and others who took the trouble to look at my post here:
Hijack This log; Autoplay PopUp problem

I have the greatest news!
I found the source of my problem - it was the CF card, left by me in a built-in card reader. I completetly forgot about it and remembered only today when I needed to use it. I took it out and this #$%#@@# Autoplay disappeared!!!!

Thank you and sorry about all the wasted time....
At least I know now where I will come for help next.
(hope this doesn't happen anytime soon )

Re: OMG!!!!! Great news!!!

Hi HGD,

I also wanted to check with you about the changes to the registry and other stuff that I made trying to get rid of the Autoplay - do I need to undo anything at all? The computer seems to work fine now, except it will not "autoplay" anything any time soon

Thanks!

Thumbs up Re: OMG!!!!! Great news!!!

Hi,Olga

No problem

What you did was this here

# Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT, click OK
# Browse to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explorer
# Create a new value called: NoDriveTypeAutoRun of type DWORD, value: 0x000000b1 (177)
# Close Regedit
# Log off/Log On or reboot to ensure that the change takes effect.

Just go back the way you came & do this here

set the NoDriveTypeAutoRun value to 91 (145) instead of B1 (177)

in other words what you are changing is this
NoDriveTypeAutoRun of type DWORD, value: 0x000000b1 (177)

To this here
set the NoDriveTypeAutoRun value to 91 (145) instead of B1 (177)

i hope this is of help to you
