I have a new computer, and want to get started out right.

I just bought a new laptop, with WinXPpro, and I used this sight before to get my old computer set up. I've tried to get rid of as much junk as I can, but would appreciate if you guys had a look.

Also, if you have any other advice, or things I should look out for that might have been installed on my comp. please let me know!

Well thats a clean log there. Having a new computer is a good thing because if you protect straight away and keep up to date, then you shouldn't have any problems.

A few things to just remember:

• Depending on where you buy your PC from, they can sometimes shove a load of rubbish on that you don't necessarily need or want. So configuring the PC to suit you is important. The Cleaning Up and Speeding Up thread at the top of this forum can help you with that.
• Depending on when the PC was built and whether the company who built it updated it, the PC could be absent some Critical Updates from Windows Update (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com) so check straight away and check regularly.
• Ensure you protect your PC with the programs mentioned in the Preventing It Returning section of the Hijack This Logs post at the top of this forum.
