Hey Spud,

Log looks good but I do normally suggest removeing wildtangent, some do some don't.

I also see remnants of symantec running alongside AVG.

As far as newdotnet it is not showing in the log so look in add/remove and see if it is there if not do this:

If New.Net is not listed, follow these instructions:
From a computer that has Internet access, click on the following link:
http://www.new.net/support/uninstall6_76.exe.
· Download and save uninstall6_76.exe to Local Disc C
· Click on Start.
· Click on Run.
· In the Open window type, C:\uninstall6_76.exe.
· Click on the OK button.
· After removal, you may be prompted to reboot. Please reboot if not prompted.

Any better?

i have removed wild tangent

i have also run the symantec removal tool but i still notice in the hjt log as symantec still being listed is it ok to check those boxes and remove them on the log

i think new.net has gone aswell unless yu can see different on the log

Hey Spud,

Create a new folder in your C: Drive
Name it C:\HJT or HijackThis and move the HijackThis.exe file in it.
It's best for this tool NOT TO be located in your Desktop or in a TEMP folder.
This way you can undo any changes if something goes wrong

This is new and needs to be removed:

C:\PROGRA~1\TopText\wo.exe--this is Ezula and is adware

Look in add/remove program and remove if there/Ezula

Run hijackthis again by clicking the scan button and put check next to these:

Make sure everything is closed out except hijackthis and click fix checked.

Make sure you can see hidden files/folders
In Windows XP
Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab.
Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.
After you're cleaned, please "rehide" them again.

Now reboot into safe mode by tapping your F8 key upon restart and safe mode screen appears, select safe mode and press enter.

Hunt for and delete this folder:

C:\Program files\TopText < folder

Reboot normal mode
