please help with searchweb2

can anyone please help me with this searchweb2 toolbar that pops up everytime i use IE also windows media player no longer works and i am havin access the net via mozilla firefox. i did a hijackthis check and it came up with this

Hi and welcome to DAL,

You have two anti-virus programs running and is a bad idea and will cause problems you don't want. Please uninstall one of them


Disable Spyware Doctor/could hinder the fix


1. Click the Spyware Doctor icon in the System Tray.
2. Click Settings.
3. Click Startup Settings under Pick a Category.
4. Uncheck Run at Windows startup.
5. Click Apply and Exit Spyware Doctor.


Also disable XoftSpy/could hinder fix

don't run the tool just yet please.
Install it. The windows tab should be opened in the upper left of the program. Click analyze and then click run cleaner. Just use the windows tab that is up front by default.

1.Uncheck "Cookies" under "Internet Explorer".

2.If you are running Firefox: ,then click on the "Applications" tab and uncheck "Cookies" under "Firefox".




Go into add/remove program and remove:(IF FOUND)

MessengerPlus3---this is a major cause of your problems
Limewire--if this is not the newest version please uninstall as it comes bundled with spyware.

Make sure you can see hidden files/folders
In Windows XP
Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab.
Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.
After you're cleaned, please "rehide" them again.


Scan with HJT again and put a check next to these items, making sure all browser windows are closed includeing this one so print this or create a new text document on desktop by right clicking an open area select new text document and save it to what ever you like. Now put a check next to these:

Again make sure all browser windows are closed and click FIX


Now reboot into safe mode by tapping your F8 key upon restart and safe mode screen appears, select safe mode and press enter.

Hunt for and delete if found:

C:\Program Files\LimeWire < folder---only if older version

C:\Program Files\MessengerPlus! 3 < folder

C:\Program Files\SurfAccuracy < folder


Now run CCleaner from safe mode useing the windows tab only please.

Reboot normal mode and do this:


Open Hijackthis, click "Open the Misc Tools section"
Next to "Generate StartupList log", place a check next to "List also minor sections" (full) and "List empty sections (complete).
Then click "Generate StartupList log"
Click "Yes" to the box that pops-up.
Then copy and paste the notepad text that appears in this log back in this topic for review.
