Help Please

Hi, I'm new here and I'm looking for some help off any good people that are willing to lend me a hand.

Basically my pc has been playing up badly, crashing and re-starting, running slow, slow to shut down, basically a nightmare. I have run adware se, mcafee spyware program, trend spyware online scan, spybot and a few others i cant remember and i'm running avg free anti virus, did have mcafee, but decided to change it after I started to get these problems. Also run sygate firewall. I run all these programs daily and altho they remove spyware, the problem still carries on. Then recently I sent a link to a friend of mine and now her pc is doing the same. Now not only have I got the problem of my pc, I feel bad as it sounds like I've infected hers with this problem also.

I have downloaded hijackthis and have a log report and i think this is the right place to place it, but not 100% sure, so If anyone can advise on this also I would be very appreciative.

My pc is getting a little dated now, but not quite ready to update, so system is as follows ; Asus a7v880 m/b, athlon xp 2400+ processer, 80gb hard drive, 512 ram, running on windows xp pro sp2.

This program is for XP and Windows 2000 only

It does not require any installation and uses minimal system resources. It is set up to clean IE, FireFox and Opera, and detects the browsers you have and grays out the other(s).

• Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
  Under Main choose: Select All

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.





Also, advisable to cleanout any antivirus quarantine area content.







Please download, install, update and scan your system with the free (trial) version of Ewido TROJAN scanner
[Developed for Windows 2000 and XP]:

1. When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
2. When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK. We will fix this in a moment.
3. From the main ewido screen, click on update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
4. After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful"), click on the Scanner button in the left menu, then click on the Start button. This scan can take quite a while to run, so time to go get a drink and a snack....
5. If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. You can select "clean" and check the boxes "Perform action with all infections" and "Create encrypted backup" before clicking on OK.
6. When the scan finishes, click on "Save Report". This will create a text file. Please then paste the contents of the text file to this thread.

REBOOT.

Thanks for the swift reply, I will try the above, I've also changed anti virus to panda platinium 2006 internet secrurity and that found 61 spyware the other's didn't, a trojan horse and two spyware in my registry, so I'm hoping I've solved the prob, but will keep you informed to how I get on after the above and then after following guidelines, I will post my Hijackthis log.
