Hijack This Log (RESOLVED)

Hey guys, it's been a while.

This computer seems to have some kind of Internet Explorer hijack, the computer will open IE windows until it locks up... or until I close iexplorer.exe in the processes list.
Oddly enough the user isn't using IE anymore, they've used Fire Fox for about a week now.

I've run Spyware Doctor (paid-for version) and Symantec Antivirus 10, and they don't find any issues.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Hijack This Log

Clean out TEMPORARY FILES:
To clean your temp folder, recycle bin, etc..please download this free tool:

CCleaner http://www.ccleaner.com/downloadbuilds.asp

Install Options:
  • Don't install any Toolbars, or other programs, should it ask you!
  • Just uncheck the option of installing the Yahoo toolbar.

It will put a shortcut on your Desktop.

Select the ‘Cleaner’ BUTTON option (top LEFT), if not already selected. Use the ’Windows’ TAB up front by default.
  • Uncheck ‘Cookies’ option (advisable)
  • Optionally, Uncheck ‘Recently Typed URLs’ option (potentially still useful)
  • Click the ‘Analyse’ button.
  • Thereafter, click ‘Run Cleaner’ after you have reviewed what it proposes to clean.

SELECT HijackThis FIX ITEMS: Scan with HijackThis and place a check next to these items:

O20 - AppInit_DLLs: ,

Make sure that all browser windows and internet links are closed, even this one!
CLICK ’FIX CHECKED’ with HijackThis.

POST A REVISED HIJACKTHIS LOG for review:
Reboot and post a new HijackThis log with any feedback as appropriate - how things are now behaving: any new or remaining apparent issues.

Re: Hijack This Log

Ran CCleaner, and then fixed the items in hijack this, but recieved an error. However, as you can see below, it seemed to remove the O20-AppInt_DLLs.

Re: Hijack This Log

About that error message I recieved in Hijack, unfortunatly I clicked the okay button before I realised it was an error. It's a little too early in the morning here to be thinking hard.

Also the user just had a Internet Explorer window pop up when he opened Winodws explorer.

24 hours later and that computer is still acting crazy. It tried to open hundreds of Internet Explorer Windows again this morning.

Re: Hijack This Log

Create a copy HijackThis.exe

and name it: HJT_test.exe

Run the new copy of Hijackthis and post the log that it produces.

Re: Hijack This Log

To avoid any potential interference for the following additional fix step(s), please go to the TaskTray (bottom right next to clock) and right-click on the 'Spyware Doctor' icon if present and select the 'EXIT' option.

Next,
SELECT HijackThis FIX ITEMS: Scan with HijackThis and place a check next to these items:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {EECF4F1D-EE50-4EF8-8335-6BF91E7BB503} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddcyx.dll (file missing)
