thats my proflem. This trojan. I can't seem to get rid of it. how do I get rid of it? i really need to get rid of it because I had to buy a new computer because that old one broke from viruses and stuff. please help me.

i haven't seen too many changes after the trojan came in. what I have seen is that it keeps saying that Shockwave FLash tried to perform an illegal operation.

also, what does dmqqi.exe do? i scanned it with Trojan Remover and it thinks is malware/suspicious. also, i downloaded Spy Sweeper and it said that it detected a trojan horse called Trojan-downloader-ruin, which is supposed to assist in downloading other harmful stuff, so just by being connected can be a risk (as a BF2 online player, i am really, really going to kill this virus)

also, if i have to download anything, all of it must be free since i can't buy anything right now.

Delete TEMPORARY FILES: Now, hunt down the most common temporary file locations and the temporary file clutter contained therein (and of possible malware hiding places):

Go to Start > Run and type: CLEANMGR.EXE and hit enter.
When prompted select the C: drive and click ok.

Click OK or Enter

hi. this is my new Hijackthis log. things seem to be running normal, but i'm still being careful. I could not find O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DMHUP.EXE] C:\WINDOWS\system32\dmhup.exe in Hijackthis though. i got all the other stuff you told me to do. i ran clean.bat and CLEANMGR.EXE, too. could not find C:\Program Files\outlook\outlook.exe /auto OR C:\WINDOWS\system32\dmhup.exe

things are running alright, but it took a couple seconds longer for things to load up after logging into my Windows XP account. It seems normal since that I have roughly 40 icons on my desktop and running a resolution of 1152x864 pixels. nothing seems to have changed.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that yesterday I found that a file called cszee.exe is infected with Downloader.agent.uj and it is currently quarantined. the trojan thing can't

For Windows 2K/XP

• Please go to Start -> Control Panel, and choose Network Connections.
• Then right click on your default connection, usually Local Area Connection or Dial-up Connection if you are using Dial-up, and left click on properties.
• Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and select the radio button that says Obtain DNS servers automatically.
• Click OK twice, and restart your computer.

I can't find program files/Outlook/Outlook.exe because there is no Outlook folder. Do you mean Microsoft Outlook?

Nothing seems to be different here. The only applications I've been using would be Realplayer for music. Windows Media Player is working fine, but haven't tested any computer games. still staying on the safe side, though.

NO - we were looking for a very specific file in the exact path given - it is obviously not there (hidden or otherwise).



Try running EWIDO in SAFE MODE to see if the lone infected item will clean up there. Probably related to the recuuring malware items that we have been seeing.

i've set all hidden folders to be shown. i did that right when i got the computer, too. still no outlook folder. I tried typing in C:/PROGRAM FILES/OUTLOOK into the box in RUN and it took me to that folder. nothing was there, though. anyways, the O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DMLHH.EXE] C:\WINDOWS\system32\dmlhh.exe came back with another dm variant (DMFAR). it keeps coming back up, so i kept deleting it. it didn't show up this time, though. anyways, i'll be back with a log after i get the Ewido thing in safe mode.

EDIT: Alright, I ran Ewido in Safe Mode using a FULL SYSTEM SCAN. since its slower in safe mode, it took about an hour. anyways, it detected NOTHING. When i booted up normally, i opened Ewido and did a memory scan (since this trojan seems to easily be found when searching through memory). The Trojan did not show up, but i still suspect something. i even tried a quick scan and full scan. CSZEE.EXE was deleted by me after that.


but there is still a problem. I downloaded Spyware Doctor and it detected the Trojan. since it is a free thing, it can't even try to delete it to start with. the name that one showed was TROJAN.DOWNLOADER.RUINS, so maybe it has a connection with CSZEE.EXE (infected with Downloader.agent.uj)?

i scanned with Ad-Aware SE (free version) and found some downloader thing. deleted it. still shows up on Spyware Doctor.

but there's more. I found some more Trojans (!). they are:

I had assumed that they had been fixed in a previous fixwareout scan. Please run it again since it looks like the PC may have been reinfected by it again:

the only thing that changed was that the very first trojan was deleted.

Those came back, though. Ewido can't seem to detect those, only Spyware Doctor. I can't get rid of them with Spyware Doctor, but I can manually delete them. Oh, and that
Backdoor.Rbot.Gen HKCU\Software\Microsoft\OLE##winlog
was manually deleted too. That didn't show up again and nothing really changed.. All other infections are simple cookies that can easily be cleaned with Ad-Aware. think i'm almost there. Just need to do something about those.

as for things going on, everything seems normal. still haven't tested online games and other big applications. the only programs I'm using would be scanners and realplayer.

EDIT: Although CMD had to be deleted, the command prompt still works. can't find the Regedit thing. the only thing close to it would be REGEDT32

HijackThis LOG now looks clean.
