Messenger/hotmail login virus problem

I am pretty sure a virus has backdoored its way into my computer becuase I can no longer log into messenger 7.5 also my when I try to log into hotmail I get sent to a page that says 'page cannot be displayed'.....I have looked at other forums that say it is a virus ...Is there a fix for this problem ??
